Esther Baker is Artistic Director of Synergy Theatre Project, working alongside people with experience of the criminal justice system.
Synergy advocates for a better understanding of the root causes of crime, crafting important productions about core social issues, while supporting rehabilitation by employing ex-offenders in their team.
They work with young people at risk of offending as well as adults already in the prison system, inviting offenders to be actively involved, telling their stories and seeing themselves differently through positive performance.
Esther works relentlessly and generously to develop partnerships and create hope for people often disregarded, altering perceptions through constructive engagement and literally changing lives.
